This drier and warm environment makes living condition ideal for many of the species the inhabit this area. However, because the national park is located in a tropical region near the equator the temperature range is fairly constant and warm. This type of forest is in contrast with most of Indonesia and the tropical forests that are generally located in the area. This lack of precipitation is an explanation for the rather dry deciduous forest that is found throughout the island.
